From hospital to hospital

I went to the Bronx to pick up my 1972 BMW from a prolonged “hospital visit” at a great mechanic called speed motorcycles.  It was a balmy 50° and decided to drive around the Mott Haven area of the Bronx (it’s basically The southern tip of the Bronx from Yankee stadium until right before you get to the Triboro bridge.

I came to 149th St. in Morris Avenue to take pictures of Lincoln Hospital.  This postmodern structure with bright red, brown and orange bricks is a showstopper among the one and two-story neighborhood retail stores that surround this hospital.

The building was designed by Urbahn Associates with simple and symmetric windows and a simple facade.  It was built to last and the condition this 40 year-old building is in is impeccable.  This simplicity is accentuated by an elaborate brick pattern on the ground level that is a stunner.
